I bought this zingy shade of Barry M nail paint last week to brighten up my nails now it’s officially spring!
I have used loads of the Barry M nail paints in the past but have never tried the ‘Gelly Hi Shine’

It is quite a thick polish and a lot of polish builds up on the brush before you apply, making it prone to glooping if you aren’t careful. The instructions on the bottle recommend using a base coat before applying so I used the Nails Inc ‘Save the Nail’ basecoat. The polish goes on well but does take quite a while to dry. As its quite thick, I only used 1 coat of the polish and this looked fine. The end result is a really shiny polished look and I absolutely loved the colour (think it would look even better in the Summer if I eventually get a tan….if the sun ever comes out over here!) and this will now become my holiday shade for nails.

The polish did chip after a day, so I also tried the polish without using a basecoat. I found that the polish lasted a lot better without a basecoat and it didn’t compromise the look and finish of the nail colour.

I bought the polish from Boots and it currently retails at £3.99. I think you get a great finish, in a really cool colour for a bargain price.
