This amazing product ‘Gimme Brow’ from Benefit has launched this week. I originally bought it when it launched exclusively on QVC at beginning of February and sold out within the weekend.
It has now gone on sale at all Benefit counters, but is it worth all the hype? In a word yes!
The product claims to visibly thicken brows and make ‘Brows Magically Appear’ If anyone is in need of this product, it is me. I was one of those girls who plucked her eyebrows in to obscurity years ago when thin brows were all the rage, and I have been regretting it ever since as they have never fully recovered and grown back.
I have been having my brows threaded and tinted for the last couple of years which seems to have made a difference and has allowed me to get some sort of shape back. Benefit Gimme Brows however, further enhances them and makes them look more polished. In fact, I haven’t had them tinted or threaded since December, and using Benefit Gimme Brow has kind of covered this up and allowed me to get away with it a bit longer than normal (though they are in dire need now!)
I bought the light/medium shade as I have blonde hair and don’t like my brows to look too dark. The consistency of this product is like a cream/gel. It is brush on fibre gel which adheres to skin and hair creating brows where there are non and thickening existing brows. It is basically a small mascara wand and you use the pointed end of the brush to draw on the outline of the brows/shape and then use the brush to brush through existing hairs, gel helps to thicken the brows and set the shape. Sounds complicated but it’s really easy.
Eyebrows before use
Eyebrows after use
You can see from the pictures that before use the ends of my eyebrows are quite sparse but after use they look a lot more defined and fuller. I haven’t got the greatest eyebrows as I mentioned earlier and I didn’t expect to get really thick eyebrows all of a sudden, but I do think this helps to define and emphasise what you do have!
My only slight criticism of this product is that it if you get the product on other areas of the eye ( I seem to keep catching the brush on my eyelid), the gel doesn’t come off that easily and you have to remove with makeup remover, which in turn takes my base and eyeshadow off!
This post coincides with the Benefit ‘Brow Arch March’ campaign in conjunction with Debenhams. You can go to your local Benefit counter in Debenhams and have your brows shaped and waxed for a suggested donation of £5. All proceeds go to the ‘Look Good Feel Better’ international cancer support charity.
Benefit Gimme Brow is available at all Benefit counters now and currently retails at £17.50
