My mum treated me to Gatineau Activ Éclat Flash Radiance for Christmas (thanks mum!.) I have been a devotee of the amazing Clarins Beauty Flash Balm for probably over 10 years now, so I don’t often look at these type of products, as I have been happy with Clarins. However, once I received this I had to try it and see what it was like in comparison!
This serum has been formulated to instantly brighten the complexion whilst eliminating the signs of fatigue and appearance of fine lines. It is a serum like consistency and can be used under or over moisturiser ( over gives enhanced immediate effectiveness – which is what I’ve been going for!)
It is a thinner consistency than Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and I didn’t think this would be moisturising enough on it’s own for my skin. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from this product ( I don’t know why, as I have never used Gatineau before and have actually heard a lot of good reviews about Gatineau skin care products.) So I was really surprised when I smoothed over my normal moisturiser before applying my makeup to see that it does instantly ‘perk’ up the skin. It goes on really easily too, its velvety to the touch and when I applied my makeup over the top, my skin definitely looked fresher and less tired.
It made my makeup last pretty well too. It’s not a primer as such, but it does give your face a velvety feel after application making makeup application a lot smoother. I think it’s great as a pick me up for those days when your skin just feels dull!
Gatineau Active Éclat Flash Radiance currently retails at £46 for 30ml.
