Latest Buys and Favourites!
How is it September already? I feel like summer has flown by and I haven’t been very good at updating my blog over the last couple of months but now life is a little less hectic I may get more chance??
I haven’t done one of these posts for a while but there are a few bits of makeup I’ve tried recently that I really love:
NYX Matte Bronzing Powder
I only tried this NYX matte bronzer because my sister bought it, didn’t like the shade on her and gave it to me! But I love both the formulation and the shade. The powder bronzer gives a really healthy bronzed complexion and blends really well in to the skin without sitting on the top and emphasising pores and flaws! It is completely matte unlike many bronzers which have a shimmer finish. It leaves the skin looking polished but not over done and is an absolute bargain at £8 here.
Temple Spa – Stroke of Genius Serum Mascara
This is a new product from Temple Spa ‘ A stroke of Genius’ has been launched as a serum mascara, also described as a treatment with colour for lashes. As well as giving natural to full on volume on lashes, it contains plant peptides to help strengthen, condition and nourish the lashes. It certainly gives lashes a really glossy black colour which could be down to the plant peptides. I really like this new addition to the Temple Spa range, it gives a natural everyday look but can be easily layered to give a really full glamourous lash look and although it isn’t waterproof, it’s smudge/flake proof and easily stood up to a gym session. It has definitely given some of my other mascara faves a run for their money and is a reasonable price too at £20 here.
‘Temple Spa Eye Palette– Easy on the Eye
Another new launch from Temple Spa for their Christmas range. This palette is so wearable…. I’ve used it loads since I got it. It’s fab for an everyday look and the neutral palette will suit all skin types but it can also be used to give a stronger smokier eye. I’ve swatched the colours below but bear in mind I’ve still got a bit of a tan from my holidays so the colours are slightly more pigmented than they look on the photo… which is a good thing! Makes a great gift for Christmas and a really good palette to invest in for yourself. £30 here.
Benefit Boiing Hydrating Concealer
This new concealer from Benefit ( a lovely gift from my friend) Boiing Hydrating Concealer is a total complexion pleaser and perfect for dry skin. It’s a great concealer for under eyes as it helps to conceal shadows and is really hydrating (for up to 6 hours) so it doesn’t settle in fine lines and dry the under eye area out. The formulation is great, it’s a balm like consistency and applies so smoothly around the eyes. It comes in three shades and I’ve got the no.2. £17.50 here.
