The Lipstick Diaries

image

Over the next few weeks, I will be keeping a regular diary of the lipsticks/ligloss’s I wear throughout the week. I will take photos of the shades and update as often as I can. I buy so many lipsticks and don’t wear half of them so I thought this might help me to wear different shades instead of sticking to my favourites all the time, although the favourites will definitely appear in here!

Tuesday 25th March

Today’s lipstick is from a brand that is new to me… ‘Stageline’. Stageline make specialist high-definition makeup for use in film, TV and events. This lipstick is shade 46, a gorgeous bright pink colour. It  surprised me as I thought it would be a matte finish but when I applied, it was a smooth cream like application which left a cream finish, not matte but not glossy either. It contains vitamin E  and SPF 10 and is very hydrating to the lips. This lipstick has amazing lasting power. I applied this morning and it still looks and feels the same as when I first applied, about 6 hours ago. It certainly lives up to the hype of being created for use by professionals to ensure performance and durability for film and TV. For more information, check out Stageline.

Saturday 22nd March

Today’s lipstick is again from Sleek Makeup and it might just be my favourite shade of the moment! It is called ‘Heartbreaker’ and is a matte formulation which I’m not normally a fan of, but it just works with this shade. It actually looks quite red in the tube but once applied it’s more of a deep fuchsia red. The formulation is great as it pretty much lasts the whole day.

Tuesday 18th March

Today’s lipgloss is from the GOSH Cosmetics new range of Lip Laquer’s. They are very quirkily presented to look like a nail polish ( see below)

The Lip Laquer contains Argan oil and Vitamin E and really softens the lips. There are 8 shades to choose from and I have been wearing 003 Sweet Lips a really pale pink shade which I would liken to shade of sweet pea pink. For me it is not strong enough to wear on it’s own unless I’m having an no makeup day (which doesn’t happen often!). I have been wearing over some of my other lipsticks to get a bit of a sheen. I am keen to try some of the stronger colour shades too as I really like the formulation of the Lip Lacquer’s.  The Lip Lacquer’s will retail at £5.99 in Superdrug.

Saturday 15th March

Today I’m wearing a Shimmer Lipgloss from Bobbi Brown in shade ‘Ruby Sugar’. Its a shimmery nude with hints of burgundy. Its a really nice colour for everyday wear and just emphasises and enhances the natural colour of lips. Its fairly long-lasting and not sticky at all. A great makeup bag staple!

Tuesday 11th March

Today I’m wearing one of the new ‘Colour Drop Lipsticks’ kindly sent to me by Oriflame Cosmetics. This gorgeous bright shade is ‘Fuchsia’. I was really surprised when I first applied this as I expected it to be a matte finish and it’s a gorgeous high shine gloss. Even though it’s a gloss, the colour is still very intense whilst still being very moisturising. I would liken it to a more intense version of the Chubby Stick and similar to the Bourjois Color Boost. I love the colour and it might be one of my favourites now to take me in to Spring/Summer!

Tuesday 4th March

Todays lipstick is this bright fuchsia coloured lipstick from Sleek Makeup. It is a gorgeous creamy texture and has a slight sheen. It is a bright purpley pink colour and the picture on my lips doesn’t do it enough justice because it really is very bright. I am wearing it with low key eyes today, so the focus is all on the lips! I love the Sleek Makeup range as they have some really on trend colours and they are so affordable, there will be a few others from this range appearing over the next few weeks!

Sunday 2nd March

Todays lipstick is a Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in shade ‘Plushest Punch’ (05.) It is a deep fuschia colour and really bright and intense as the name suggests. I love the Chubby sticks as they are so moisturising and comfortable to wear, and the ‘Intense’ range are just a bit more pigmented. They still provide the same comforting texture but with the addition of brighter long lasting colour.

Wednesday 26th February

Today’s lipstick is a bit brighter than I have used over the last couple of days. I have applied L’Oreal Colour Riche Intense in shade ‘Pink Passion’ (371.) This is a bright pinky coral shade with a matt cream texture. I wear this colour a lot during the summer months, as it looks great when I have slightly more colour. However, I have a warm toned bronzer on today with a peachy blush, so it evens it out a bit and has made me feel ready for spring!

Monday 24th February

Today’s lipstick is Estee Lauder Pure Colour Crystal Crème in shade 14 ‘Rose Petal’. It is a rose pink colour and another cream texture, as my lips are quite dry at the moment and this lipstick really hydrates them. The colour is long-lasting too without being drying.

Sunday 23rd February 2014

Going for a no makeup look today, so have used Clinique Butter Shine Lipstick in shade ‘Pink a Boo’. It is a creamy peachy pink colour which just enhances the colour of the lips slightly. The consistency of Butter Shine lipsticks are amazing as they are so moisturising, like a balm rather than a lipstick, perfect if your lips need some TLC!

Saturday 22nd February 2014

Todays Lipstick is Bourjois Color Boost in ‘Fuchsia Libre’, this is definitely one of my current favourites and I do wear this a lot ( you can tell how much, as all the writing has worn off the tube!) as I love the balm like consistency and the bright fuchsia colour.
