Organic September 2015

blog new 001

It is that time of year again and another celebration of all things organic.  The Soil Associations Organic Beauty Week is all about growing organic beauty sales and helping to educate consumers about organic beauty products so they might decide to change their beauty routine and products and instead buy organic. I have found some amazing ranges and brands over the last few years since starting my beauty blog and have found them to be really beneficial to my own dry skin type. This year I have discovered some new brands and have also thrown a couple of products in from some of my old favourites, all of which are detailed below.

Aloree – Chloro Vitae – Radiant Mask

blog new 005

This face mask from new French brand Aloree contains Chlorophyll which is supposed to be natures secret of eternity. Chlorophyll is a natural oxygenating bio-molecule. This mask helps to brighten and detoxify the skin and the nutrients and antioxidants within help to revive the skin. The mask is an amazing soft gel formula which is bluey/green in colour.  After applying and leaving on the skin for 10 – 15 minutes, it can be rinsed off with water. I was amazed by how much brighter my skin looked after using this, my skin was plumper and looked so much healthier. I will definitely be taking a keen interest in this new organic brand and would love to try some of the other products in the range. Available here.

Purepotions Skin Salvation – This is a brand I have featured before but I have recently tried a couple of new products which I need to rave about!

blog new 002

Purepotions Skin Salvation Daily Moisturising Cream –  This is a new product to the range and doesn’t contain any parabens, petrochemicals and perfume. It is particularly suited to those prone to eczema, psoriasis and dry itchy skin. This is another non greasy product whilst still being very nourishing. This range is great for dry sensitive skins like mine.

Purepotions Skin Salvation Intensive Hand Cream – I am always on the look out for good hand creams as my hands are so dry. The Purepotions one contains Sea Buckthorn, Shea Butter and Hemp Seed Oil which help to feed essential fatty acids in to the skin and chamomile and calendula to help soothe and take down redness. It really does soften rough cracked hands without being over greasy and it smells great too.

Purepotions available here.

Dr Organic Deodorants

blog new 003

Another of my favourite organic brands with a new product for me… a natural roll on deodorant. These are free from aluminium, SLS, paraben and are also alcohol free. There are six amazing scents to choose from and I have tried the Aloe Vera and Lavender versions. The Aloe Vera smells really fresh and feels so gentle when you apply. The great thing about these deodorants apart from the fact they are super kind to your under arm area is because they are aluminium free they don’t clog pores and allow perspiration and toxins to leave the body rather than blocking them in. Although they allow you to perspire, the deodorising fragrances mask the odour and after trying I can vouch that they do keep you smelling fresh all day long. Dr Organic.

Marili Skincare

blog new 004

Strawberry & Honey Hair & Body Wash – Marili Skincare is a newcomer to the childrens organic bath and body market but one I predict will become really popular. Marili skincare has been developed by a Zimbabwean national Marili Aitken who now lives in the UK, it came together after her son developed a rash after using a high street brand of skincare. She searched for a natural organic version of skincare and discovered there was a gap in the market so developed her own. The African inspired products are free from SLS, parabens, petrochemicals and mineral oils. The packaging is amazing too and my daughter who tested this product out loved the characters on the packaging. Each product has a character based upon Zimbabwean wildlife, this one has a Leopard on the front. My daughter has always suffered with eczema and dry skin so was really excited to use something in the bath which is scented as everything she has used up to now has been unscented. She loved the  strawberry fragrance and it didn’t cause any breakouts or redness (which many products do) so it was a big thumbs up from her. The Marili range is available here and is 70-99% organic.

Salix Alba Anti Ageing Skincare

blog new 006

This new skincare range has been developed to enhance skin softness and reverse the appearance of ageing. The range is 100% natural and organic and contains natural sourced Salicin (extract of the willow tree) from the Lake District. Salicin is a natural Beta Hydroxyl Acid and gentle exfoliates the skin by breaking down the outer layer of skin cells allowing healthy skin cells to come to the surface. This natural ingredient helps skin to look brighter and younger. I have used for the last few weeks and have noticed that my skin is a lot softer to the touch and also looks a lot healthier.  Available at Salix Alba Skincare.

Tropic Skincare

blog stuff 003

Tropic Skincare – Another brand which I have only recently discovered and love, I had to include in this post as many of the products are organic and natural. My favourites in the range include the Smoothing Cleanser & Organic Bamboo Cloth and Face Smooth Brightening Polish.
