Realine Beauty – Frown Line Patches
I have been very kindly sent these Frown Line Patches from Realine Beauty to try. I have used them over the last few weeks to get a feel for them and see how effective I found them.
The Frown Line patches are marketed as a ‘natural’ way to fight frown lines. They are basically hypoallergenic tape patches which are applied to the skin and left on for several hours or ideally overnight, leaving a smooth forehead afterwards. The patches have been developed as a natural alternative to injectibles for the forehead. What struck me when reading the accompanying information was that 84% of clinical trial participants reported that their frown lines appeared smoother after use.
I couldn’t wait to try these as I am all for a natural approach to anti – ageing where possible, and I am starting to notice the beginnings of a ‘furrowed’ brow. The patches themselves reminded me of those nose pore strips we all used to use years ago. They are similar in application method, the frown patches peel off a smooth backing paper and are then applied to the centre of the forehead over the frown line area. The skin needs to be held taut when the patches are applied and that’s it…. they are that simple. You wear overnight and remove in the morning ( or after a few hours at least.)
From the first time I used the patches, the frown lines on my head were visibly reduced on removal. The patches come in a box of 30 for a months supply and the best results come from using the patches on a regular basis, as you are basically re – training the skin by restricting the movement of the skin on the forehead when wearing the patches. The patches do feel quite tight on the skin to begin with, but I quickly got used to the feeling and they certainly didn’t stop me sleeping. The patches are also transparent so you can’t really see them one they have been applied.
I think the patches are great for the onset of frown lines and they do smooth them out, so are great if you have a special occasion coming up. There were a couple of slight niggles I had with the patches, they tighten the skin so much, that there is an imprint where the patch has been when you remove in the morning. It took maybe an hour or so to work itself out, so if you have got an event or an early start in the morning, make sure you remove them in good time. The other issue is, I am a regular user of self tan especially on my face. When I removed the patches, it sometimes removed some of the colour, leaving me with a paler patch of skin! This is easily rectified with a bit of bronzer but is just good to know before you try the patches.
On the whole I was mightily impressed with the smoothing power of these patches. Realine Beauty Frown Line Patches are available online at Feel Unique, £28 for a months supply.
