Valentines Makeup Special

image

With Valentines day coming up this week, I thought I would do a ‘Valentines’ makeup special. The products I have chosen to feature are all perfect to create a great Valentines look and are also great gift ideas ( you could send the link to boyfriends, partners and husbands, to give them a subtle hint!!)

First up are these products from quirky makeup brand Laqa & Co. I have chosen a gorgeous red coloured  ‘Fat Lip Pencil’ in the shade ‘Ring of Fire’ and a nail polish in a glossy red called ‘BMX Bandit’.

What I love about the products from Laqa & Co., is that they come in this amazing packaging featuring unique pieces of artwork from up and coming artists ( the artists also get a cut of the profit from all products purchased, which is great.)

This nail polish is my favourite colour at the moment, I also love the name ‘BMX Bandit’. It is such a glossy intense red, perfect for Valentines day or any other night out…. it’s just so glam!

The nail polish currently retails at £8.95 at Laqa & Co.

The ‘Fat Lip Pencil’ is a more of a subtle red shade but can be built up for a more intense colour. It is a matte texture and I have been dabbing on to my lips to get more of a lip stain. It’s great used either way.

Next up are these gorgeous new blush palettes from Sleek Makeup called ‘Blush By 3’. Each palette contains three intense blush shades in a mixture of cream and powder textures. I have chosen ‘Californ I A’ and the ‘Pink Lemonade’ version as I think they fit well with the Valentines theme. There are six different palettes to choose from in total, visit Sleek Makeup for more details.

First up is the peachy blush combination aptly named ‘CALIFORN I.A’ This palette contains three cream blushers in warm peachy shades, perfect for ‘perking’ up the skin. They are all intensely pigmented, so you don’t need to apply a lot. It’s best to go with a less is more approach to begin with and build the colour up if you feel you need more.

The colours from left to right include: Newport Peach, The Surf and OC.

My favourite is the first one on the left ‘Newport Beach’ a gorgeous pinky peach colour, it instantly warms the skin and just makes it less lacklustre, perfect for this time of year when skin tends to be a bit dull. I think the shades in this palette will be perfect for the summer months and will complement a sun-kissed glow really well too.

The other palette is ‘Pink Lemonade’ This palette contains a mixture of powder and cream  blushers, all in gorgeous sugary shades of pink. This palette is perfect for spring and coordinates with all the pastel coloured clothes that are beginning to appear in the shops. The colours remind me of rows of cupcakes, and one of my favourite shades is called ‘Macaroon’.

The shades in the palette from left to right are: ‘Icing Sugar’ (powder), ‘Macaroon’ (cream), and ‘Pink Mint’ (powder.)

My favourite shade is ‘Macaroon’ which is a cream texture and a light berry pink shade. The powder shades are nice too as they contain a hint of shimmer and lift the skin when applied. These palettes are great for Valentines day wear to give skin a gorgeous glow.

Both palettes retails at £9.99 and are available online at Sleek Makeup.

More valentines inspired beauty and makeup coming up throughout the rest of the week!
